Rock and Roll musicians and their lifestyles are suddenly looked upon with disdain. Alice's marriage falls apart as Dennis' fledgling career comes to a grinding halt.
Years pass. Alice remarries, and with her new husband, Josh, they raise her daughter, Christina. Alice manages to recover, and they lead a normal life for 10 years. But then, everything changes.
After ten years of performing in obscurity, Denny records a hit song and achieves stardom, becoming the most popular entertainer in the world. Denny remarries, and his PR machine portrays him as a loving, benevolent family man.
When Christina learns who her real father is, her behavior changes for the worse. Now 21, Denny’s daughter is arrested for buying cocaine. Alice and Josh divorce. Christina holds Alice responsible for ruining her life because of her parent's divorce. Alice runs into financial problems.
